Piano Duo

"What is astonishing is their musical concordance, the perfect agogics, a flawless performance, a meaningful tonal language. [With the Onyx Piano Duo] the music seems to come from a creative source."

- Mainpost

The Onyx Piano Duo is praised by the press for its subtle sense of timbre, technically crystal-clear refinement and the unconditional fusion of the two musicians at their instrument. Whether at two pianos or four-handed at one instrument - their interpretations always focus on the joint understanding of the music. The desire to discover, the curiosity and the endless joy of making music together are characteristic of the young duo. Together they studied with Bernd Glemser and Denise Benda in Würzburg and refined their skills with other important musicians such as Eberhard Feltz and Reto Bieri. Marie-Thérèse Zahnlecker and Jonas Gleim have dedicated themselves to presenting not only well-known masterpieces but also forgotten or rarely performed works for piano duo, and from these they regularly put together imaginative and coherently conceived programmes that never fail to thrill and surprise their audiences.

“With bravura and empathetic playing, the Onyx Piano Duo confidently mastered the intricacies of the magnificently sounding compositions. […] The precise and coherent execution of the crystal-clear lines and their interpretation of lively dialogues [were] fascinating. Fresh tempi and finely measured pedaling made [the sonata] an exhilarating listening experience.”
